Watch Out For These

Common mistakes to catch yourself on while practicing.
🚫 Trap
Sharing goals that don't match the role
Fix: If you mention future goals, make sure they connect directly to this position. "I want to grow my project management skills in a role like this" — not "I'm hoping to move into marketing eventually."
⚠️ Trap
Answering a different question than what was asked
Fix: Before you answer, repeat the question in your head. "They asked about a challenge — not about my team, not about my company. A challenge."
💬 Trap
Filling silence with "um," rambling, or starting over
Fix: Use the pause sentence — "Let me take just a moment to think about that." Then pause. Then answer.

Self-Assessment

Rate yourself after each practice round. Be honest — this is just for you.
